American Scream x Night Helix

My Role: Director, DP, Editor

Project: Artist Night Helix approached me about directing a music video for his song American Scream.

Challenge: With a budget of only $800, I needed to find nimble creative solutions across all production elements while still producing a cohesive video.

Goal: I wanted to highlight the cool strangeness of the choreography and create strong motifs that aligned with the visual world of Night Helix and his EP. Even with limited budget/timing, it was important to me as director/camera operator to allow the talent (and myself) plenty of opportunity to experiment while on set. I believe it is in those moments of experimentation that we all found some of the most powerful moments.

Result: In addition to producing a dynamic final product, the American Scream video was picked up on numerous music/blog sites around the world.
